Did you know all children are geniuses? It's true.
As teachers we guide them, exposing them to language so they can communicate ideas, creating opportunities for them to make connections and grow. But the genius is already there, and always has been.
Then why do our students struggle in math? The answer is, they don't. We are the ones struggling. Our assessments are struggling to accurately capture the genius. They take bad pictures.
We need to shine the light on all students. They deserve to see their brilliance reflected back at them.
